Sick Days

LM is sick. Can't you tell? Yeah, neither could we! The wonderful Aunt Lissa noticed Monday that LM had a fever after she came to her complaining about her "eye" which was actually her ear. We took her to the doctor and she has strep, ear infections in both ears and ASTHMA?! crazy. Ryan started to feel bad last night and went in this morning. He now has strep. So, STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THE SHELTON HOUSE!!! Say a little prayer that these two sick puppies get to feeling better soon.

PFE Diaper Pounding

We were blessed with a diaper pounding at my school on Monday. Each grade level brought their grade equivalent in diapers (ie... 1st grade brought Size 1).

Playdate at the Burdette's House

Lucy McLean, Aunt Mu Mu, Ella and I took a trip up to the Burdette's house for a playdate Saturday morning. The girls were hilarious. Ella Burdette says LM's name so clearly (have to admit I am a little jealous about that). Ella also showed off her potty skills. LM proceeded to show off her wiping skills...aghh.
She then showed how she can potty like a big girl
Sweet Ella Burdette!
Thanks Mandi and Ella for a wonderful time. We miss our playgroup something fierce and can't wait until I have the summer off.

Mullet Man

Benjer came over to the Shelton Barbershop tonight for a major makeover. He came in looking like this...
In the meantime, he and Ryan thought this would be funny.

Forgot to get an aftershot. Don't worry...Ryan wouldn't let someone actually walk out of the house like this. Benjer looks very handsome now with his new "grown up" hairstyle!
P.S. Lucy McLean certainly misses the mop. She thought Benjer was hilarious with his mop on his head.

Living with a Toddler

My mom has always told me that, as a child, I did anything to make people laugh. I guess that has passed on to Lucy McLean. She is hilarious! This was our morning.
Cheese...ready to go to Aunt Lissa's house!
She had to get her fake Coach bag ready!
And these are thanks to Aunt Lissa. Awhile back, my mom thought it would be funny to buy LM some tacky princess light up tennis shoes. Now she has to take them to Lissa's every day because she actually keeps them on. Monday, Lissa thought it would be funny to sneak some tacky princess crocks into LM's bag. This morning, LM threw a fit to wear her "tacky cocks". Who is going to fight that?
And on another note.... guess what LM has learned to do?
CLIMB OUT OF HER CRIB! This is how I found her from her nap the other day. She had thrown everything out and was sitting on the floor with everything.
HAPPY THURSDAY!!!

Sweet Lila!

We were blessed with the opportunity to go to Alabama for Lila's birthday party this weekend. The Brands were gracious to allow us to stay in their BEAUTIFUL home. Here are pictures from the festivities.
Lila Bug...how precious is she?
LM...probably looking for Lila. Anytime she went out of the room, LM was on a hunt for "LILA...LILA"

Casey and LM really hit it off!
Lila and her Daddy (Josh)...I know...he can hardly claim her right?!
An attempt at a girls shot. There were no good ones. At least LM has learned to "Cheese"!
Miss Lila,
We were so happy to share your special day with you. You are such a cutie patootie and we love you more than you know. We wish we were closer and could love on you more. Can't wait to see you this summer!
Love,
Aunt Essie, Uncle Ryan & Lucy McLean

Still here...

So, I started back to work this week. We had 2, 2 hour delays and a day off. Craziness. I am too type A for this. Don't get me wrong, I like the breaks...but I like them better in JUNE!

LM is doing better. She has been at grandparents since Wednesday. We get her back today and I can't wait to love on that little munchkin. I am not one who likes to be away. We do appreciate grandparents taking the time to love on her so she can rest and get better (and mama can save all 9 days she has for her maternity leave).
We have gotten LM's new big girl room in order and now are trying to get the nursery back together. I am still looking for curtains in there. I bought fabric for roman shades back when I was pregnant with LM (well actually Ryan's mom bought the fabric), but that didn't pan out.

I love these red roman shades, but of course PB doesn't actually sale them. Nor does anyone right now because of the massive recall. So, should I just go with red drapes? Or does someone have an idea?

Baby S is also doing well and getting ready to make his/her 1st appearance! After Tucker (our new nephew) was born, I started to freak out about the size of this baby. LM was 3 1/2 weeks early and weighed 8 lbs. 11 oz. I spoke with the doctor this week and he wants to do an ultrasound in the next few weeks to see what we are looking at here. He thinks that my body will probably just be ready to go early again, as opposed to waiting until I am 39 weeks to induce. So, who knows. We will see. I have this fear of c-sections, so I would rather not birth a toddler! Our actual due date isn't until February 27th, but we are getting "guesses" that range from next week (AGGHHH) to February 19th (my Bday). What do you think?

Pneumonia

Poor little Lucy McLean has been struggling with pneumonia and bronchitis this week. During the day, she seems to feel better (just hacking up a lung), but at night...she is rough! We went back to the doctor yesterday (for the 4th time this week) and they said it has now turned in to viral and bacterial pneumonia. Say a little prayer that this stinker starts to heal soon. One big dose of medication has been that Grampy has been here for the past two days and Grammy is coming today! WE LOVE YOU AND APPRECIATE YOUR HELP!!!See... during the day she acts like she feels much better. She even puts on fashion shows for her daddy!

A new addition...

Tucker Shelton Cranford
Born December 28,2009
get this...9 lbs. 12 oz.
21 1/2 inches long

We are so excited for a new nephew. Tucker was born on Monday, but I haven't had a chance to post pictures yet. Here is the little (I mean enormous) bundle of joy! We can't wait to see you again Tucker and LM can't wait to meet you.

P.S. We have been practicing saying "Baby Tucker". When we were in the doctor's office the other day, the girl checking in before us said her name (her last name was Tucker). LM whipped her head around and yelled "BABY TUCKER"!!! It was precious. She was disappointed that there was no baby, but at least she made the connection to his name. Now let's hope she gets this excited about Baby Shelton!

Baby Shelton's Diaper Pounding

Sweet Sara and Peggy threw Baby Shelton a diaper pounding while we were in RowCo. We had a great time fellowshipping with old friends and preparing for Baby S. Minus two boxes of diapers that were given to me before the shower, Baby S received 896 diapers. I say that is one heck of a start!
The spread...beautiful and yummy!
The West Rowan Girls
The Brumleys...Elizabeth was my flower girl. Look how grown up she is now!
Mrs. Steele...if you could pick a major in high school...we majored in Home Ec. We took every class she offered. Mary Beth even made up a class and did an independent study! She was pregnant with her daughter Sara (pictured below) when we were in high school.
LM LOVED spending time with Mary (and Mac...Mary's dog).
Thanks for a beautiful shower and a wonderful time. We love you Aunt Sara!!! LM is especially grateful that she received her own "baby duck" presents!

Christmas Day

I know I am a little late on posting, but I left my cord to my camera at my parents house. So, here comes the posting...

Christmas morning was wonderful. Lucy McLean really enjoyed all of the presents. We have a hilarious video of her yelling "MICKEY" as soon as she walked in my parents living room. She was precious opening gifts and was very careful to give her Grammy every scrap of wrapping paper. She refused to throw it on the floor. The McLeans came over for lunch. We had a great time, as usual! Here are some pictures from our special day!

Her daddy's favorite toy...the new T-ball set. LM liked it a lot too!
An attempt at a family picture
She got a new jacket from Sherry and wouldn't take it off the rest of the night.
