Rah Rah

As Sara put it perfectly, I have certainly had a "coming full circle moment'' the last two weeks. During both games, Lucy McLean has decided that she is now a cheerleader. She loves being out with my girls and "cheering with them". She even runs and flips. She has made the news paper, cable tv, and our local television's Friday Night Football! The girls are great with her and besides her being in their way on occassion, it has been pretty fun to watch! Here are some pictures from this big girl's adventures as a Falcon!

3 Days for Crying Outloud!

Yep, we lasted three whole days at preschool before we "didn't get a smiley face". I knew this day was coming, but I didn't expect for it to happen so fast. Lucy McLean kicked a little boy because he was trying to get in the playhouse with her. Some may want to justify her actions (heck her mama kinda does), but dang if it isn't a little embarrassing to be in education and having a child that misbehaves at school. I felt a little better that my principal has had to go pick up his 3 year old because he was "getting a little too wild". What will she become?

1st Day of Preschool

She was a little excited! When I left, she said "Thanks mom. Love you. Bye Bye" She earned herself a smiley face. Let's see how long that lasts ;)

Life at Grammy & Grampy's House

We have officially been with Grammy and Grampy for a month. Things are going well BUT THE HOUSE IN BREVARD IS STILL FOR SALE. Lucy McLean and Tripp are loving having grandparents (and dogs, chickens, pigs, extended family members, etc) around. My mom is keeping the kids during the day while we are at work. I am not sure how she is doing it all. Lucy McLean is loving playing with puppies and welcomes her Grampy every afternoon when he gets home from work. She loves "Grampy's shop". I think it is mainly because he keeps Grampy cakes, chocolate, and sodas in his shop. We ride around in the golf cart and have been attending a lot of Falcon football games. It is good to be home!

6 months of pure sugar!

Our big man turned 6 months on the 20th of August. Here are a few things about this chunk a monk!

• He weighs 21 pounds
• He is 30 inches long
• He loves food...all of it (especially pickles, tomatoes, bananas, and green beans)
• He has been crawling for almost a month
• He pulls up (when he does it in his crib, he can't figure out how to sit back down)
• He still loves to watch his sister
• He is obsessed with his Grammy
• He is in a big boy carseat now and loves it
• He likes to ride with the windows down
• He sleeps with a blanket and his middle finger and ring finger in his mouth (like he is saying "I love you")
• He grins with his mouth wide open
• He grabs your face and tries to kiss you
• He loves to take baths
• He loves to be outside
• He chases the dogs
• He is still not in to sleeping all night. He wants to make sure his mama and daddy don't forget about him throughout the night!
• He loves to swing
• He is pure sugar and I could eat him up!

Whirlwind August

We have been busy this month. We went to NYC with my parents the first week of August. That consisted of a Mets Game, Ryan's 29th Birthday, Ryan going to the hospital (short story...he had an allergic reaction to something and is fine now...epipen in hand!), a Yankees Game, the Statue of Liberty, Ground Zero, Time Square, lots of shopping, Westside Story, visiting with our "yankee friends" on Long Island, central park zoo, and lots of other great NYC adventures. The kids did well, considering they are 2 and 5 months and were stuck in strollers for the majority of the week. They were happy to be back "home" which is now my parents house. We moved and are staying here until our house sells.

We came back and on Monday I drove to Asheville to take my last question of my comprehensive exams and scored a HIGH PASS...woohoo. I am now OFFICIALLY done with my 60 hour graduate school program!

I started my new job at the alma mater on Tuesday (the 10th) and it has been great so far. My days have been jam packed with schedule changes, meeting kids and parents, cheerleading practice, meetings, etc.

Ryan found out that he is going to be working at Henderson Independent School (also in Rowan County) as a math teacher. He is really excited about this. He started on Wednesday and is enjoying getting to know everyone.

Thursday (the 12th)we celebrated our anniversary and also got some sad news. Ryan's dear friend Seth (the guy who set us up) was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma on Thursday. We ask that you please pray hard for this family. Seth goes tomorrow to meet with an oncologist to (in his words) "figure out how he is going to beat this". We know (and they know) that the Lord is in control and he knew this day was coming long before now. Still yet, this is a scary time for the Denton family, as well as all of us who love them so dearly. Please pray for Seth, his wife Rebecca, and their two boys Luke (4) and Benjamin (3 months).

Last night (the 20th) was our first football game of the season. I am the cheerleading coach. It sure is a different perspective from the coaches seat! The girls did great. I was pretty proud.

Tons more info to go, but all in all we feel blessed to be where we are. We are missing our friends in Brevard, but know we are where the Lord wants us!
