MY NEW HOME!!!

I got to come home from the hospital today! Dad, Mom and I packed the house mom took to the hospital and brought it home! I don't even know what I happened. I slept the whole way home, but I did feel a few bumps. I was excited to see my new home with Mom and Dad. We came home and I met my new best friend, SNOOP! Mom has already told you, but he met me with a kiss! He was trying to talk to me, but I was too tired and kept sleeping. I am pretty sure he and I will get along real well though. He came and snuggled with me while I was taking a nap on Dad this afternoon. He also barked at mom and dad if they tried to get to close to me, but Dad curbed that REAL quick. He got in trouble, but it's ok. Dad had to do that because he loves me.

I am very thankful that God took care of our family while mom and I were in the hospital. I want to tell you about some of my friends I met while we were in the NICU. I don't know many of their names, but they were born very premature. Please pray for them and their families. They are very strong willed babies, but they may not get to come home as soon as I did. I met one beautiful little girl that has been there for seven months and her mom and dad live very far away from the hospital. They don't get to stay with her because they have to work. Please pray for her and her family. God is taking care of them, but they could use the extra prayers. The nurses and doctors have become part of her family. It was great to see how much they cared for her family. Dad met a few others staying there also, so he asked that you pray for them as well.

Mom and Dad are so thankful for the nurses and doctors that took care of us. They are truly geniune people who definitely chose a profession they love. My nurses Sara, Jessica, Carey, Tiffany, and Dr. Litzenburg truly have a gift God blessed them with. We have and will say many prayers for them to keep doing what they are doing. I hope as I grow older, I will get a chance to meet them! Well, as I have began a routine for my very young life, it is bedtime for me after I eat. I hope you all have a blessed day and night!

Love,
Lucy McLean

Home Sweet Home

Remember this little fortune that I got at Doc Chey's 3 months ago TODAY... I am chalking it up to the Lord. What a great thing that I had in store for me today. To come home with our daughter!

I would like to say thank you to everyone who has lifted us up in your prayers this week. We have definitely felt them. We arrived home today at lunch and are loving being in our own comfort zone. Let's see what I say tomorrow when I have no nurses helping us out throughout the night! I have felt so blessed to have the medical staff that we were blessed with. Lucy McLean was well taken care of and we were loved on as well. I can't thank the doctors and nurses enough.

P.S. For the Snoop lovers, he is doing great with his little sister. He gave her a big sloppy kiss as soon as she arrived home!

More Pictures!!!

I hope you look forward to seeing more pictures in the days and weeks to come. I am sorry it has taken me so long to get them on here. The internet at the hospital has not been very cooperative.

We are all doing well! Erin and Lucy McLean are doing much better. They are no longer having to stay on separate floors. We are all in the same room now!!! Lucy McLean is doing great! Erin is also doing much better. She is the strongest woman I know and I am thankful God brought us together. She is what makes our family beautiful. Thank you all for your support! We truly appreciate it and we can't wait for you to meet our new daughter! Have a Blessed Day!

Good Morning!!!

Good Morning! Dad and I finished eating about 15 minutes ago. It’s now 1: 42 in the morning. He and I had the best time! I gave him his first present!(hehe!!!) Mom was downstairs resting, and it was lots of fun training him! That poor nurse is giving all the help she can, but he is being very patient with me. I’ll explain the whole mom being downstairs in a sec. I have to tell you about my grandparents. I was so excited to see them and they were ecstatic about seeing me. They have said LOTS and I mean LOTS of prayers for me. Mom had a tough time bringing me into the world. If it had not been for their love and prayers, it could have been REALLY tough. That’s why mom and I are separated. Mom was feeling kind of blue a few days before Dad brought us to the hospital. So, when Dad brought us to the hospital Sunday morning, she was having contractions and she was a little sick. By the time I arrived, the doctor determined mom had a virus and I got all upset as well. My tummy was upset before I came into the world, so I had to be closely watched as soon as I was born. Mom on the other hand, she had a few problems too. Dad says it’s not as bad as it sounds.

So, here is my story. Dad was able to stay with me, and we were taken to the NICU by a nurse. They put all of these wires on me and stuff. There were computer screens with a bunch of wavy lines on them and a few people looking at them and me. One of these folks cleaned me up really well and Dad took a few pictures of me. He says I didn’t cry very much and it made him a little nervous, but I was VERY tired. Upset tummy, dehydration, BIRTH etc. There is only so much a little girl can handle. Thank goodness though, Daddy and I said a quick prayer together and mommy showed up. She was back to see me, and man was she toasted. Daddy has the pictures to prove it! He'll have to put them on here later though. They must have had her on some good stuff to keep from hurting.

As soon as I was born, the doctor had to help mom out a bit. The stuff that was supposed to happen after I was born didn’t. So, the doctor had to put mom to sleep to help her. She had to go to the operating room. That is why she has to stay downstairs and I have to stay in that place called the NICU. Mom is doing great! She has been coming to see me A LOT! Her time in the operating room has helped both of us. We were both able to rest on Monday and we have been working hard learning how to feed. Mom is doing a great job. She is being very patient with me and she is helping me a lot. I hope that we can both get well enough to go to my new home.

I think I am doing very well, but the doctor wants me to stay here, so I can get some antibiotics and be closely watched in case something harmful were to come my way. Although, I have been quite the noisemaker at times and Dad says it’s music to his ears. I heard him telling someone I did not make a lot of noise after I was born. He does not realize what is coming for him when we get home! I know he will still love me though. Well, I hope you sleep well because I am going to doze off myself. Have a Great Night and I hope God blesses You when you least expect it!

I AM HERE!!!

Hello everyone!!! My name is Lucille McLean Shelton. I was born Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008 at 7:58 PM! I am a baby girl. I weight 8 pounds and 10.6 ounces and I was about 22 inches long. I have not been talking to my parents to much because I am very tired. I did talk to my dad earlier today though. I thought to myself...What does he think he is doing?!... I have worked very hard to get this warm and his hands are SOOOOO COLD. He figured things out and put me in a warm blanket, so I think he'll come around. I have been runnin' the show around here since God blew the first breath into me. He has taken Great care of me and mom. My mom is doing great. She is already up walking around and feeding me to help me get out of the hospital soon. My dad keeps telling everyone about what a trooper she was and still is. I'm not real sure what that means, but I hope you get whatever it is he's talking about. My dad has also been telling me about my 4-legged friend Snoop who is at home waiting eagerly to see me. I can't wait to see him too. I'll bet we will be so excited we may just pee everywhere...Well...he will..... Mom may put us both in diapers!! hahahahahahaha

I will keep letting you know how things are, but it is time for me to catch some zzz's. I will be up bright and early around 1:00 or 1:30 for the party if anyone would like to join me. I may be the only one there, but I am sure my mom and dad will be soon to follow. Have a wonderful night!!!

Lucy McLean :-)

P.S. Pictures will be soon to follow. We are having a little trouble getting on the internet here at the hospital. I am sorry, but you will see her beautiful face very soon! Thank you all for your thoughts, love and your prayers! Erin and I have been blessed beyond measure with our daughter, Lucy. Have a wonderful day! God Bless!

Learning....

Hello. I am Erin's husband, Ryan. If I have not met you, I am sure we may meet in the near future, if not I hope you enjoy reading the blog she has created. Ok.....so Erin is going to be giving birth and there are somethings in a man's life that God did not intend for him to do. You would not believe how thankful I am that is the case for the well being of our baby. Since Erin is going be doing the things she does so the baby can take it's first breath of fresh air, I will be taking over the duties of the...."the blog." I am a quick learner, so hopefully I can get this "blogging" thing down. In the days to come, I am sure most of you girls that look at this will be pleased to be getting the birth of a child from a man's perspective. Please bear with us here.....

Getting Prepared

My parents came this weekend to help out with getting loose ends tied up before Baby Shelton arrives. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!One major task was working on the closet. Here are some before and after pictures of this poor little closet. Atleast it will actually hold stuff now. The dogs worked really hard too. Snoop made sure that the laundry didn't get in the way and Velma and Earl made sure that Megan was entertained! FINALLY...pictures!

This is a picture of the closet curtain that my sweet friend Robin made. It still needs to be himmed, but I think she did a great job!

Change of Face

Ok, so Ryan is going to kill me when he sees our blog. I really wanted to put the picture that is now to the left on our blog, as our title picture, but it wouldn't fit right. Ryan Norman, my wonderfully talented roomate from college, took this picture. Yeah, I know, Ryan Norman, Ryan Shelton... it gets a little confusing. Ryan had no clue he would be in pictures that night, hence the scruff face and hair that hadn't been cut in months. I am soo excited about the pictures that Ryan Norman took. She is a PROFESSIONAL (sooo proud of her) photographer now and takes beautiful pictures. She took black and whites of me and Ryan when we were in college and we still cherish them and have them hanging in our house. She truly is amazing. Here is a sneak peek at a few things she has done for us. They are mainly belly pics, but a few others that I just love and had to include! And yes Jamie, I know that I swore I wouldn't do bare belly shots, but Ryan Norman talked me into it ;)!

P.S. I can't wait to see you in two weeks RN!
